This Malibu proposal photography session was truly unique! This morning proposal could not have been more perfect. Mark’s top priority was keeping his proposal a secret from Anna. Following the proposal, Mark planned a weekend getaway in Santa Barbara. And he wanted to propose to her in Malibu before they left for their trip. The most difficult part of this proposal was getting Anna to dress up at 9am for photos. Everything we came up with would easily ruin the surprise. But after much deliberation, Mark decided he would tell Anna that they were meeting his grandmother for brunch. I can’t think of any better excuse. And from there, Mark would say he wanted to stop for coffee at the Malibu Pier.

As they made their way up the Malibu pier, Mark suddenly dropped to his knees and popped the question. Anna was completely surprised, and more importantly, she said yes!

After the proposal, I took Mark and Anna down to the beach for a Malibu proposal photography session. Anna was still in shock and kept looking down at her beautiful new shiny ring. The morning was slightly overcast and chilly, however Anna and Mark were happy to get their feet wet. During their session talked excitedly about planning a possible wedding in Santa Barbara.

I love it when a surprise proposal goes exactly as planned. It’s so special when an ordinary day unexpectedly turns into one of the best moments of your life.
