When I first moved to Los Angeles, I worked for a few other photographers. 1) to keep busy and keep shooting 2) get to know the area 3) get connected in the photo community. What I didn’t realize is how much fun it would be to see other professionals work while taking a step back from the lead role. I was able to change my perspective while thinking about my shots at a slower pace and low stressful situation. This year was definitely a year of growth and I can not wait to start sharing the events I booked for my own company soon.
On New Years Eve this year, I shot with For the Love of It. I always tell myself I am not going to work on New Years Eve and somehow I am always convinced. But on the other side of it, I always have such a great time.
When couples plan a New Year’s Eve wedding, the first thing on their minds is always the PARTY!!! This wedding took place at a venue that was quickly introduced to me in downtown LA, Millwick. First of all, I am so obsessed with all the plants at this venue. Maybe because the LA aesthetic is still new to me or maybe I just love plants. But there are so many fun textures, reflections, and shadows, it leaves you with so many opportunities to create some beautiful images.
But let’s get back to the party. This couple not only had a live band but they also had a guy who was making custom balloons, donuts, and In and Out Burger. It was for sure a PARTY!
