I think the idea of having a micro wedding and elopement may be my new favorite thing! Larry and Firouzeh contacted me early that week to see if I could do a simple portrait session of their new blended family after they got married. And as with most weddings, one thing led to another and they decided to make it more of a celebration.
They booked a suite at Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes where they spent time with their two dogs and their 4 teenagers. I found it so cute about this family that both parents has a set of teenage twins. I always love when there is a lot going on so hanging on with this crew was a lot of fun! They started the ceremony off by getting married via zoom by a dear friend of theirs. They read their vows and exchanged rings. It was so different than what we are traditionally used to but still so beautiful! From there we walked down to the beach and did a series of portraits of the family and the couple.
This wedding was truly beautiful! I can’t wait to see how the pandemic changes wedding culture. I’ve never been the biggest fan of all the unnecessary things that go in to a wedding. I feel like they only distract us from what is truly important and that is love and family! I’m happy to see that people are still figuring out how to celebrate, even in challenging times.
