Amy contacted me late last year about her backyard wedding in Los Feliz. From the minute I read her first email, I knew we would be a great fit. The couple was so laid back and were most excited about throwing a big party for their friends and family.
One thing that was special about this couple is that they never stopped laughing. From the minute I showed up until I left, both had a smile that went from ear to ear. Even when Amy was starving due to a Uber Eats mix up.
We decided to stay at the mansion for photographs of the couple. One thing I’ve loved about Los Angeles weddings is that portraits typically always happen on site. It allows me to really push my creativity and make every wedding unique. When I worked in Chicago, as much as I loved all the options, it was many times impossible to convince people to try out new spots.
The next thing I loved about this wedding were the couples vows. Of course they were sweet and romantic but they also added in a bit of humor. They both promised to try not to lose their wedding rings and to love each other, even if they both got bangs. I try not to laugh out loud while I am working but it was sort of difficult to keep it in.
From there, the couple had amazing hors d’oeuvres and custom cocktails followed by dinner by Heirloom Los Angeles. This was my second time seeing this caterer in the past month. I loved their uniqueness and attention to detail. And of course it was very delicious.
