Family events have been something I’ve started focusing on more recently.  Most of my clients tend to be much more focused on experience verses extravagant decor, which is something I truly enjoy.

When Valerie contacted me saying she was looking for a photographer for her baby’s Christening in Los Angeles, I was so excited to be a part of this day.  Her and her husband live in San Francisco and they had family from all over the country.  So they decided to rent a house in Malibu for a week and invite friends and family to come and meet the new baby.  On the last day, they threw a party for all their friends and had a small ceremony around the pool.  I loved that the party was full of really great food and drinks along with some simple decor of balloons and a really awesome cake.

The ceremony was so special!  Since the family was not religious, they came up with an idea of their own.  They had a close family member speak and then the parents each made a promise to their daughter about how they will be there for her and take care of her.  Not gonna lie, I may of teared up a bit.  It was really sweet!

Following the celebration, we did a little photo session with the new parents and baby.  She was quite the model with her beautiful long eyelashes and big brown eyes!  And then of course her little dress.  What a blessing for sure!
