Kate and Ken’s Chicago wedding was the most unique Chicago weddings I photographed in 2011 while working for Serendipity Portraits. Kate and Ken broke every rule and that was my favorite part. After photographing almost a 100 weddings, you realize that the rules are sometimes silly and you should just do what feels right for you and your fiance. I met up with Kate and Ken at Four Moons Tavern in Roscoe Village which is not only where they met but also where Ken asked Kate to marry him. From there, we took a trip around different parts of the city doing portraits of the two along with two of their very best friends. Before the ceremony, we met the entire family in Humbholdt Park for family portraits. Soon after we headed down the road to Park Schreck Art Gallery for a very intimate and non-traditional wedding ceremony with 40 of their very closest friends and family. Soon following the casual ceremony, all 40 guest along with Kate and Ken walked over to Club Lucky in Bucktown for dinner and cake.
These are the types of weddings I photograph and remember why I love being a wedding photographer. I hope you enjoy their fun portraits as much as I enjoyed photographing them!
