It was such a joy to get to photograph Caitlin and Ravi’s multicultural wedding day. Caitlin and Ravi started their special day at Hotel Figueroa, a boutique hotel in Downtown LA. Caitlin got ready with her mom and sister in one room while Ravi got ready with his father and groomsmen in another. Caitlin’s day got off to a stressful start when she realized her dress did not fasten properly. Luckily, her sister is an experienced seamstress and was able to sew her into her dress!
Ravi and his groomsmen had a more relaxing start to the day. They hung out and ate snacks while they all got ready and drank a special whiskey Ravi had saved for the occasion. After Caitlin and Ravi were ready, they went outside to do their first look. I loved the beautiful corridor outside the hotel. It was filled with lush greenery and flowers, which was perfect for their first look photos.
After the first look, everyone traveled to The Valentine DTLA for the ceremony. Ravi and Caitlin met when they were young in school, so they have many mutual friends. Their families also know each other well. My favorite part about the wedding was the mix of American traditions with Indian traditions. The day was a beautiful blend of different cultures. Caitlin and her bridal party all had henna from the previous night’s sangeet. For dinner, they had delicious Indian food for their guests, followed by ice cream! Best of both worlds!
I really loved getting to photograph this beautiful multicultural wedding. Are you planning your multicultural wedding? I’d love to chat. Shoot me an email at info@heatherdecamp.com and we can start planning your special celebration!
